A Siberian governor offered a million rubles to anyone who finds the yeti

"I promise the winner will talk with the monster and take tea together, "joked Aman Tuleyev.

The governor of the Siberian region of Kemerovo today offered a reward of one million rubles (about 23,700 euros) to anyone who finds the abominable snowman.

"Whoever wins the prize, I promise I will talk to the snowman and take tea together," joked the governor Aman Tuleyev after announcing the reward on the first Day of the Yeti, according to Russian news agencies. Tuleyev

last month began an intense campaign for the existence of the yeti to promote tourism in the mining region.

According to the governor, the number of sightings of snowmen in the area has increased in recent years and has even enabled a cave as a place of pilgrimage for the curious who travel to the region in search of these creatures supposedly originating in the Himalayas.

The local government has invested 200 million rubles (4.8 million euros) in the creation of numerous infrastructure tourism, among which is a ski resort and 42 hotels, to welcome the growing number of visitors expected as a result of this campaign.

Next year, this investment will be expanded with a party of 60 million rubles (about 1.4 million euros).

addition, this year has been declared 11 November as the Day of the Yeti, a day that will take place in the region many activities related to these mysterious beings. "I am convinced that this will be the most peculiar and distinctive festival," said Tuleyev.

The Kemerovo region is not the first that uses mythological to attract tourists. Scotland receives every year thousands of spectators who come to the shores of Loch Ness in hopes to see "Nessie", the monster that, according to legend, lives in the depths of the lake. Perhaps the yetis

continue to use your skill to avoid humans and the prize is desert, but one thing is clear: they have already invaded the shop windows of Kemerovo, where recreations of these mysterious beings come in all sizes and way imaginable.
